Two figures meet on a lonely stretch of road in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is certain, nothing can be done and nothing really happens. But if you think these are just world-weary men waiting for some chap named Godot, you might feel like someone's been pulling your strings. This offbeat, puppet-centric satire takes absurdist theater to new heights at Playhouse on the Park in Phoenix. It's the play Beckett might've written had he taken a wrong turn onto Sesame Street, Waiting for Henson is a decidedly adults-only work of nonsensical tomfoolery that abandons logic and rational thought to prove that "irrationality, self-awareness and puppets are a lethal combination when someone tries to assign meaning to them."
